Music Streaming Service Deezer Expands Into Canada, Australia & New Zealand

French online music streaming service Deezer has just announced availability in three more countries – Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The service operates a premium service with a free trial to entice users and currently serves more than 20 million users worldwide.
The service, which requires Facebook to register an account, uses a combination of HTML5 for web based playback and dedicated mobile apps for iOS and Android devices as well as a few internet radios and Philips TVs. The service has signed deals with more than 2000 record labels to make over 15 million songs available for streaming.
This is the first time the Deezer service has been available in these territories, and the company hopes to expand into a total of 200 countries by the end of 2012, though plans to expand into the US are on hold.
