As you may have noticed, this year GeekDad and Wired have teamed up to do something new for Father’s Day. Ken Denmead, publisher of both GeekDad and GeekMom, is urging folks to celebrate Father’s Day this year with a geeky twist. They’re calling it National GeekDad Day, and this is what they’ve got to say about it:
Grab your safety glasses and your kids, we’re taking over Father’s Day! Enough with crazy ties and soggy brunches, celebrate the holiday like you’ve always wanted to — with cool activities and experiments picked by WIRED just for families like yours. These projects will help you jumpstart a lifelong love of science and technology for your kids. Plus, everyone learns how to make their own fun.
To help you get started hosting your own GeekDad Day events at home, on your block, or in your town, they’ve even prepared a handy guide. In it, you’ll find activities, projects, and how-tos from the special GeekDad section in the June issue of Wired magazine. (Look for the articles by me and fellow GeekMom editor Corrina Lawson!) You can find even more projects on the GeekDad Community Site.
